Usually when a large corporation or buisness makes massive changes,selling property,etc.they inform the work force at some stage.Some enlightened companys' like to keep their workers or investors informed as to what is going on, if only to stop rumour.My question is this .How much financial infomation is being explained to the rank and file? Will there be a watchtower article discussing all the issues involved? Will they be explaining the total amount of money involved so that the hard working guys and gals can sleep easy in their beds at night knowing that the organisation is loking after their interest? After all it's the result of their free labour that have made it for the executives to control. The slave workers are told -" the truth will set you free". But how do you get them to see it?

by AlphaOmega ini need help identifying the source of this photo, which purports to show the watchtower crowd going up to the top of the mount of olives in 1914 awaiting the rapture.. .
i would like to show this photo to several jws along with the article in the october 8 1968 awake, which says.... true, there have been those in times past who predicted an end to the world, even announcing a specific date.
some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end.yet nothing happened.

Nothing is really black and white but think about it for a minute.Suppose a nation state which is totally opposed to the freedoms we have, and wants for arguments sake our land and it decides to attack with a weapon we know nothing about.As the attack begins do we roll over on our backs and say "give in" or do we organize and try to fight back.If there is a slight chance of winning I think most people would ,apart from the dubs, try and fight back because there is no other choice.It depends on who you want to rule and take orders from.
In fact if you think about it .The armed forces are another level of policing with more fire power.If somebody said we don't need the police you would think they were barmy

The witness leadership need to get a grip on reality.Do they never understand the history of nations and the threat of invasion.Do they not learn and understand that unprepared nations ( praying to God to save them) since the dawn of time have been overun by stronger forces .The chiefs in Brooklyn like to make it sound so simple by saying" Thou shalt not kill." Try telling that to someone who is coming at you with an army of 40,000 Roman soldiers hell bent on changing your peaceful residence on the banks of the river Thames.Have they never heard of the Vikings, the Normans,Napolean's army, Hitler and Operation Sealion, etc. etc. etc.The governing body need to learn from history not ,"what fantasy can I come up with next," routine.Remember for tyrants to succeed good men do nothing.
Do they not know that in law there is lawfull killing and unlawfull killing.When the very existence of a nation is at stake it maybe ,unfortunately lawfull to kill ,to defend the things and those you love the most.Do the bonkus brothers in Brooklyn think that Hitler would have given them a special dispensation when the the Gestapo came knocking with the swastika banner to hang up over the words "Read Gods Word Daily."If the enemy had won superiority ,and they might have done, if someone had not said "so far and and no further."
The leadership sitting in their cozy offices should show some respect for those who have put themselves in harms way in the past and at present.

If we are "free". Why are we still debating?

baptized, ministerial servants, elders, pioneers, etc, etc.
why is it that a lot of us call ourselves "free" when in fact we keep debating, putting down, hating, examining, analizing everything the wts does, did and will do?

Hi tapout1,
Good question.I have been free for over forty years and didn't give the jdubs much of a thought in all that time,unless they came knocking on my door that is ,and then I let them have the real truth.Don't think I had a lot of success with them but you never can tell what thoughts came into their minds at a later stage.
I will tell you why I post on here.It's because when I left the witlesses all I had to help me were three books one being, "Thirty Years A Slave Of The Watchtower," and a book by the same ex witness called" Into The Light Of Christianity," the other was a book on the trinity by James Barclay.Now when the internet came along everything was transformed and the information available about the jdubs was so massive ( we are talking search lights) and if any small input that I can give helps someone, then great.

I'm going to be disfellowshipped on Wednesday
by Thinking of Leaving inthe elders cames to my home on saturday and i didn't answer the door, so they told my sister to relay the message.
the message was "you know what it's about, we're going to make the announcement next meeting".
i knew it was coming...but it feels so weird.

You are a freedom fighter, a hero.You are fighting against an evil enemy,regardless of who they think they are.The wachtower is one of the devils agents,masters of deception.When they kick you out they will be doing you a big favour and in years to come you will realize just what a lucky escape you had.You may not see things clearly now but given the distance of time you will.
There are truer friends out there ,who will travel with you through thick and thin,friends who will not be so judgemental,they are the ordinary or should I say extraordinary people ,from all walks of life ,whom the jw's would look down upon.You will make friends again they are out there just waiting to be discovered.As you go on life's journey of discovery look for the threads of gold and ignore the dross that answers to the name ,watchtower, an organization which can't even understand a simple instruction which says " nobody knows the hour or day of our Lords return."- just to give one example.
People are leaving the witnesses every day but the org. do not publish those figures.Imagine if you could work inside the headquarters and see the records of how many jack it in because they realize they have been fooled,not for just for a few isolated instances, but for decades.
As for the reason they disfellowship you. Tell them It's between you and God and that you will make peace with God with out their help thank you very much.
May the peace of the Lord be always with you.

If the Watchtower ceased to exist right now, what would this mean for you?
by JH inwhat would it change in your life right now if the watchtower fell apart and didn't exist anymore?.
maybe some would want to join another realigion right away, because they still believed a bit of what they preached and didn't want to join a false religion, just as the jw's brand all other religions..... .

by edmond dantes into all those who accept the watchtower doctrines and to those who are thinking of accepting their myriad falsehoods.. you will be told not to listen and look at criticisim of the watchtower society and definately do not engage in such activity because it is from demons,so they say.but what would you think if a product supplier, manufacturer etc.of any other commodity said that to you?
you would think they were nuts and you would not accept that argument for one minute.yet millions of rational people go along with the watchtower line of reasoning, it's crazy.. most of what you read here on this forum is basically consumer reports on a crazy religious system which has massive fault lines running through it .buy into the witness beliefs, carry on with those beliefs and at some stage down the road you will come unstuck and it will all unravel in front of your eyes.remember the road to hell is paved with good intentions.learn from people who have been there, done that ,bought the books.one day it might be at your cost.
to late say shudda,cudda, wudda,to quote judge judy.. your welfare is my concern,.
